ABOUT PET PARTNERS

Pet Partners is much more than just a business…it’s a family legacy; and one that we couldn’t be more proud of! Pet Partners was originally founded 20 years ago in Detroit, USA by Lyn Rathwell. Lyn created a wonderful pet minding service, which was highly successful and widely respected for delivering outstanding customer care. Sadly, in the height of her success in 1996, Lyn passed away. Lyn was the late sister-in-law of Deborah Bodger, who established Pet Partners in New Zealand in 2007.

A passionate pet owner herself, Deborah was looking for someone special to take care of her pets. She had 4 dogs and simply wanted a pet minder who would treat and love her dogs in the way she did. She searched around but couldn’t find the right person and it was only when she tried to find someone else, that she recognised the shortage of professional pet care. So with a big cup of courage she decided to leave her successful career in retail management, to begin her own business and create a service that people and pets could count on.

It was an obvious choice to name the business Pet Partners, in honour and in memory of Lynn. Since then, Pet Partners has grown organically through a very simple yet effective approach. A devotion to animals coupled with a dedication to outstanding service. In August 2009, Pet Partners entered the David Awards and were delighted to receive the Runner up Award for Most Outstanding Fledgling Business in New Zealand. Their professionalism and focus on customer service was noted as being exceptional.

So here we are, 4 years in and the Pet Partner family has grown significantly as new customers come to experience our unique and memorable way of taking care of them and their pets. We’re proud to play such an important role and humbled by the trust that is given to us.
